GENERAL SUMMARY
dataPARC continues to expand its global business and has an immediate opening in India for a Project Implementation Engineer.
The Project Implementation Engineer will be responsible for implementing customer projects throughout India and the ASPAC region in pulp & paper and other process industries. Duties involve installing and configuring the dataPARC software for new and existing customers. This position will require travel to customers’ sites to configure software, conduct training, and work on customer-specific engineering tasks.
The location for this position is Hyderabad.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement dataPARC projects in close collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders (BTG, VOITH, Capstone).
- Achieve excellent customer satisfaction on projects.
- Execute projects efficiently through practical project engineering. Meet project schedule and deadlines by managing the defined scope, monitoring project progress, coordinating project tasks, and resolving problems.
- Lead system integration planning and coordination with the customer and third parties.
- Train customers (Operators, Engineers, Management) on the use of software in their production environment on-site and remotely.
- Participate in dataPARC software testing and quality assurance. Document findings and participate in QA reviews.
- Available to travel up to 60% of the time.

- Work in accordance with and enforce compliance with all BTG policies (ex: Safety, Code of Ethics, Commercial Policy, Security Policy and Export Compliance) to maintain BTG reputation and image.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of the dataPARC or other Process Information Management Systems (PIMS)
- Relevant knowledge of pulp & paper processes, process analysis, quality management, and production management.
- IT and database skills with a solid understanding of operating systems, industrial networks and communication protocols, Microsoft Windows Server and Windows OS, and MS SQL Server.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and VBA.
- Automation, instrument, and controls experience, including systems integration and OPC DA/UA.
- Basic knowledge of application development in an object-oriented programming language, such as Visual Basic .NET, is an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of Information Technology within the pulp & paper industry. System Administration skills are an asset.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper manufacturing, Automation, or Information Systems.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in an operational or engineering capacity in the process industries. Preferably, experience working for an international company.
- Process operations, engineering, or maintenance experience is an asset.
- Firsthand experience with competitor process historian and data visualization software packages such as Aveva PI, Honeywell PHD, Siemens XHQ, GE Proficy, MOPS, BrainCube, Wedge.
- Experience with modelling and statistical software & languages such as Minitab, MATLAB, R, or Python is an asset.
